Ruth Alvarado

Ruth was born on July 21, 1921, in El Paso, Texas, as the first child of Enrique Cisneros and Maura Garcia Cisneros. Ruth grew up with seven siblings: six sisters and one brother.

In 1938 Ruth married Walter Cota Alvarado, and they made their home in Los Angeles, where they welcomed their two daughters.

Ruth, a woman of faith, attended church regularly and was passionate about quilting, sewing, knitting, embroidery, crocheting, crafting and baking both for herself and especially for others. She also enjoyed traveling, camping and playing slot machines. However, the lasting memory we are most grateful for is the love she showered upon her entire family.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Jennie Alvarado-Torres and Barbara Alvarado-Ponce, her sister, Margaret Medina; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren and countless others who adored her too.
