Adela was born on December 16, 1949, in Kirayan Sur, Miagao, Iloilo, to Diosdado M. Febrin and Aurora Natay. After graduating from high school, she moved to Manila to attend beauty school. It was after completing her studies that she met her future husband, Vincente Naldoza, who was raising his young son, Michael. Adela welcomed them both into her life, and in December 1973, they became a family when she and Vincente were married.
Over the years, their family grew to include three more children: Steve, JennieRose, and KalitaJane. Adela dreamed of building a brighter future in the United States, and in 1982, that dream became a reality when she and Vincente moved their family to San Jose, California. Two years later, she welcomed her youngest child, Vicky, completing their beautiful family.
Adela’s first job in the U.S. was in food service at “All American Hotdog” in Great America. Before long, she found her place in the tech industry, where she worked in various roles for 33 years until her retirement in 2023. But retirement didn’t slow her down. She filled her days with long walks in the park, exercise, social gatherings, ballroom dancing, caring for her grandchildren, and traveling back to the Philippines whenever she could. She fondly called her social adventures “The University of…” followed by the name of the place she and her friends were off to — the University of Cache Creek, the University of Eastridge, and many others.
Adela will be remembered for her free spirit, joyful laughter, and boundless generosity. She loved to dance, to connect with others, and above all, she loved her family deeply.
She is survived by her children: Michael Naldoza, Steve Naldoza, JennieRose Hofilena, KalitaJane Naldoza, and Vicky Abenoja; her sister, Salomi Febrin; her grandchildren: Aryelle Star, Ikaylea, Arvince, Rayjae, Jaeda, Ronin, Hiro, and Nova; and her great-grandchild, Rueben. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vincente, and her siblings, Silverio, Maura, and Verginia.
