Angelita was born in Los Angeles, CA on August 23, 1932, to Victorio and Julia Villalpando. She became an Angel on July 6, 2019, from complications from Parkinson’s disease. Predeceased by her beloved husband Matilde R. Torres, with whom she was married for 32 years before his death.

Great-grandmother of 12: Alizae, Alijah, Eli, Liana, Jalissa, Alyssa, Anthony III, Mateo, Anahi, Xavier, Izabella Rose and Layla.
Angelita is survived by her beloved hermanita Amelia Villalpando Bohon, and predeceased by her brothers Primitivo and Exito, and her sisters Ester and Virtud Guadalupe.
Angelita was raised in Aguascalientes, Mexico until she was 11 years old. Her family then moved to Mexicali where she lived until she started migrant work in California. She met and married Matilde in Wasco, CA in 1950. Angelita resided in San Jose, CA for 68 years. Angelita was a joyful, loving person who loved singing, dancing and family gatherings. She welcomed the children in the neighborhood to her kitchen for butter tortillas and hugs if needed. She never hesitated to offer help to strangers, showing Christian love for everyone.
Angelita worked seasonally at Santa Clara Packing Company for 20 years and was a homemaker with a reputation for tasty cooking like menudo, mole, tamales, pumpkin pies, and her turkey stuffing! Angelita, a loyal Dodger’s fan, also cheered for the San Francisco Giants.
She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church since the inception of the parish, participating in the weekly Rosary. Angelita was part of a Spanish speakers bible study group at St. John Vianney Parish where she made many friends and where her love of Jesus and Mary flourished.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. and with a Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. on Friday July 12, Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow St. in San Jose. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church,1300 Ninth Place, Wasco, CA at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 15, with burial at Wasco Memorial Park where Angelita will be laid to rest with her beloved Matilde.
