Aurora Bucago Cayabyab was born into life on January 6, 1932, to her loving parents Ygnacio and Maria Bucago, in San Carlos, Pangasinan. She was the third eldest out of six children. Aurora was raised in the Philippines and went on to major in pharmaceutical studies at Palaris Junior College. That is where she met the love of her life Francisco P. Cayabyab.
Aurora married Francisco on June 16, 1953, at their Roman Catholic Church, in San Carlos, Pangasinan. She made a home with her beloved Francisco in the city of Manila, where she mothered six beautiful children. In 1968, Aurora and Francisco made the decision to bring their family to Palo Alto, California. One year after arriving in the United States, they purchased their first home in Sunnyvale, California. That same year, Aurora began to make a career for herself in the electronics industry which she went on to do for the next thirty years. Eight years later, Aurora and Francisco purchased their dream home in Milpitas, California. That is where they finished raising their children and began to watch their family flourish as her children began to have children and build families of their own.
Family was everything to Aurora, and she enjoyed nothing more than to be surrounded by family. She also loved to play mahjong from dusk until dawn, to have family over to watch exciting boxing matches, to sit back and relax to one of her favorite game and cooking shows, to catch-up on her soap operas, to listen and dance to her favorite music, and, of course, to indulge in anything Shogun. With that said, Aurora still found time for her weekend trips to Reno and vacation cruises to the Caribbean with Francisco. Aurora had a distinct grace to her. She made sure to live every day full of passion, charisma, compassion, hospitality, and honesty. She had a truthful and fearless nature to herself that sometimes surprised others. Aurora had an intriguing way of comforting those she came in contact with, with her warm smile, kind words, and infectious laugh.
