Benedetto was born on September 4,1927 in Capaci, Sicily, Italy to Benedetto and Susanna Vassallo. Benedetto married Antonina Balistreri in 1953 in San Nicola l’Arena, Sicily. The married couple immigrated to San Jose, California in 1969. Benedetto is survived by his wife, Antonina, five children, Susanna, Giovanni, Pietro, Tony and Nancy, his eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A Rosary will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Lima Family Erickson Memorial, 710 Willow Street, San Jose. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 580 Jackson Street, San Jose, with Father Livio Stella of Holy Cross Church officiating. Burial will follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln Street, Santa Clara.
