With a heavy heart we announce the passing of our mother, Benita Montemayor, in San Antonio Texas on February 7, 2023, after a long, full life. She lived in San Jose, California with her son Jaime and his family for the majority of her life. Benita was diagnosed with dementia and thereafter moved to San Antonio in 2017, to live with her daughter Olga and her family.
Benita was born in Los Colorados, Nuevo León on March 21, 1931, the daughter of Jijinio Montemayor and Adela Villareal. She was the mother of three children; Mario, Jaime and Olga; grandmother of thirteen and great-grandmother of eight.
She worked for the Del Monte Cannery until she retired. Benita was a devoted member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. She had many friends, she loved to sing, dance and listen to music. She was always ready to go shopping and that became her hobby.
Her favorite quote was "pansita llena Corazon contenta," (heart is happy cuz stomach is full) and her other quote was "tengo hambre como perro bailarin" (she hungry like a dancing dog).
She will be missed by all of her family.
