Born in San Jose on July 2, 1951, Christian was second in line to a large family. His childhood held many good memories that he would often reference; Sunday potluck lunches at his grandparents, outings with the Boy Scouts, the family German Shepherd, birthday parties with multiple cousins, Mass on Sundays and time spent with friends. As a teenager, his first car was a prized red, convertible TR4, which became the first of many fine cars. Christian was a graduate of Bellarmine and Santa Clara University. His degree was in Combined Sciences and he belonged to various clubs while there.
Christian was a salesman and had many business ventures that he started on his own, from selling fine jewelry to fine cars, and eventually homes after becoming a Real Estate Broker in 1981. He owned his own businesses: TriStar Realty and Christian and Associates Finance. He worked even through his final years of life. Christian traveled to the Philippines, England, Italy and even lived a few years in Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita R. Mendoza (2019) and Emilio A. Mendoza (2010). He is survived by his five siblings, Emilio, Michael, Elizabeth, John, and Mary. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Gabriel Weitzman (Tiffany), Anna Weitzman, Mattie Walker, and Salvador Mendoza; as well as Brother-in-law Jack Weitzman, Sister-in-law Kathryn Airoldi and lifelong friend, Felix Morales.
Christian loved telling jokes, reminiscing of his youthful escapades, socializing, spending time with family and friends, and he was passionate about music: singing in church, playing the piano and singing songs by Frank Sinatra,The Three Tenors, Rod Stewart Great American Songbook and others. He loved oil painting, cooking and had a keen interest in the study of medicine. He also did an excellent Chevy Chase look-alike imitation for which he would get great laughs.
His faith was unwavering and he found his comfort in the promises of Jesus, his Lord and Savior. Christian was well loved and he is greatly missed already.
