

David Garcia Escamilla was born in Dallas, Texas, on March 27th, 1931 to Juanita and Francisco Escamilla. He Peacefully Entered Heaven, Back Home, on September 17th, 2020. He was the 6th born of 9 brothers and sisters, and born 10 minutes before the 7th, his Twin Brother Daniel. At a young age, His Older Brothers and their Wives, Domingo and Tillie & Johnny and Sally, came to California looking for a Better Life for Their Family and Encouraged them All to come to California. They first moved to Palo Alto, for a couple years, before moving to San Jose.
He enjoyed Sports. In High School, he Excelled in Baseball, Basketball and Track & Field, A Three Sport Athlete, where he Lettered in All Three Sports. He received a letter from the New York Yankees inviting him to their tryouts. Modest as he was, he downplayed it. His future wife, Maria, (Mary) Ramos, would go to his games to cheer him on, and would do the bragging for him. She would laugh at the fact that his tongue would hang out of his mouth, wiggled it slowly while he dribbled the basketball. This is a hereditary trait that has been passed down to some of his grandchildren. David Graduated with A Gold Tassel, which was Reserved for Graduates with A GPA of 4.0 or Higher. He was offered a Full Ride Scholarship to Stanford University in Academics and Athletics but turned it down, Keeping His Word To Serve His Country by His Service in The Air Force. It wasn't until years later that he told his family that he knew that college would have changed his life, but if he had to do it all over again, he wouldn't change a thing, and besides, he wanted to be close to His Twin Brother, Daniel.
David & Mary married on October 14th, 1951, just after he joined The Air Force. He Proudly Served his Country for the next Two and A Half Years during the Korean War, and worked his way up to the rank of Corporal. As Twins have a special bond, He and His Twin Daniel were in the same unit and remained close during their time of service.
After he served his term and Honorably Discharged from the Air Force in October 1953, he went to work as a Cabinet Maker, working for PM Cabinets and later worked for Crest Manufacturing. He became a Layout Man, breaking down the floor plan of the kitchen cabinets and made material cut lists for the workers in the shop, way before the Era of the Computer and CAD. He joined the Carpenters Union and was A Proud and Respected Union Member. In 1969, he had the opportunity to be the Owner of His Own Cabinet Shop, Empire Cabinet Company Inc. which he successfully operated until he retired in 2016.
David & Mary had two children, Donna born in September 1952, married The Late Keith Wooten in 1973, and David born in September 1955, married Clara Carrasco in 1979. He was a Very Loving and Loyal Husband to His Wife of almost 55 years, and he Well Provided for Her and Their Children, as well as being a Loving and Supportive Father. He Adored his 5 Grandchildren, Keith John, Kirk, Danielle, Delayne and Alejandro, as well as his 14 GreatGrandchildren and 4 GreatGreatGrandchildren.
David had a Wonderful Personality, A Great Sense of Humor and Was Very Intelligent Man. He was A Good Man, Very Loyal, Respectful, Respected and Led by Example.
His passing is preceeded by his Wife, Mary, in May 2006, His Brothers Domingo, Johnny and Tony, Sisters Mary, Josie and Ernie, and Son-in-Law Keith Wooten.
David had a Good Life, And His Family Knows that He Has Reunited With His Loving Wife, Whom He Dearly Missed. David will be Missed by his Family & Friends And ALL Will Have A Special Place In Their Hearts For Him.
