

Georgia Marie (Escobedo) Ybarra, beloved mother to Arthur Ybarra Jr., Richard Ybarra, John Alter-Ybarra and Kristine Ybarra, passed away on May 8, 2025 at the age of 84. Georgia was born in Palo Alto, California on April 23,1941, to Soleded Alamillo and Eliseo Escobedo.
Georgia will be remembered for her “life of the party” attitude, super-woman strength, fierce protector of family and friends, her quick-wit and zest for life. She dedicated her life to her family, always there with laughs, jokes and good food. Her pride and joy were her 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and nearly 1,000 extended family members.
She was predeceased by her mother Soleded, her father Eliseo, her sister Mary Ybarra, brothers Ralph Banuelos, Ray Adame, Mike Adame and Ysidro Adame.
She enjoyed making tamales from scratch and sharing them while visiting with family and friends. Georgia was a very proud Mexican-American and celebrated her heritage with pride. She was a lifelong San Francisco Giant’s fan. Her cooking traditions live on through her children and grandchildren. Georgia was a resident of The Parkview in Pleasanton for 16 years and leaves behind beloved friends who staff who provided care and laughter.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose, followed by a Celebration of Life Event (her wish was a party) at the Elk’s Lodge located at 444 W. Alma Avenue, San Jose from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
For those who wish, the family kindly asks for lavender/purple-colored flowers. Purple was Georgia’s favorite color.
