

Helen Valdez Carranza was born April 29, 1960 in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. The daughter of Eugenio & Gertrudis Valdez. Helen’s siblings are- Norma Valdez Funtanilla, Gertrudis, Nestor, Oscar & Benedicto Valdez. Helen was raised in Pililla, Rizal, where she learned the values that guided her life- faith, compassion & to serve others.
On July 23, 1980 Helen married the love of her life, Eduardo Carranza, a United States Marine, in Pililla, Rizal, Philippines. Together, they built a marriage grounded in faith, perseverance & devotion- a partnership that carried them through life’s blessings & challenges.
Helen completed a couple years of dental studies reflecting her early desire to serve & care for others.
In November of 1987, Helen made Santa Clara County her home. Helen worked in Silicon Valley in the high-tech industry, what the world calls today, the heart of high-tech innovation & development. Helen manufactured in high quality thin-film magnetic media disks for computer hard disk drives that supplied to major high-tech corporations. Helen demonstrated discipline, reliability, strong work ethic & worked long hours day and night.
In 1998, Helen’s desire to her last breath, operated multiple adult residential care home facilities serving adults with mental disabilities. These homes were simply places of dignity, safety & compassion. She touched the lives of friends, caregivers & residents. Helen expressed her faith and her calling to serve others who really needed it the most.
Despite the long hours & constant demands of her work, Helen’s greatest calling was family. She was a devoted wife, aunt, sister, a loving mother to Charlotte, Vanessa, Jason & Ryan. She was a proud grandmother to Cassidy, Azalia, Hazel, Andrea, Odell, Kyler & Harlan. Helen prayed for her family, sacrificed endlessly for them & loved them unconditionally.
Helen Valdez Carranza, passed away from this life on December 21, 2025 at the age of 65 in San Jose, California. Above all, Helen’s life reminds us that true faith is lived through action- through service, sacrifice & love. Though we mourn, we do not grieve without hope, trusting that this is not goodbye, but until we meet again.
