Joan Starbird

Joan was educated in San Jose, attending St. Leo the Great Elementary School, then graduated from Lincoln High School in 1978. Joan completed her post-secondary education at West Valley College. She had a long career in Medical billing with firms in the Bay Area. She was noted for her professional demeanor and cheerful positive attitude throughout her career.

Joanie enjoyed life with her family. She lived life through simple pleasures, needlework, quilting, chatting with friends and spending time with family, especially her nieces and nephews.

Joan is survived by her parents Judith (Starbird) Guardino and Tony Starbird, stepmother Linda Starbird, her siblings, sister, Anne (Starbird) Wehrle and spouse Steven Wehrle and two brothers, Adam Starbird, Zachary Starbird and spouse Jennifer Starbird, and step-sisters Natalie Delaney and Kimberly Barnes, Aunt Terri Rumpf, aunts Jane and Susan Starbird, Uncle Tim Starbird and his spouse Jane K. Starbird. Nieces and nephews: William “Jake” Wilkinson, Claire Reiton, Joseph Wilkinson, Jordan Starbird, Xander Starbird, Foster Starbird, Emmett Starbird and Abigail Starbird.

Family, friends and others whose lives Joan touched are invited to services at the Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose, CA 95125, starting at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 16, 2019 to reminisce, grieve, support each other and of course just chat. Burial will be at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery directly following the Memorial Service.
