April 12, 1961 – November 14, 2019
Resident of San Jose
Kimberly (Kim) Taggart passed away suddenly in the early morning of November 14, 2019. Kim was born in Albany California to her parents Donald de la Peña and Ruth Salladay. The family moved to San Jose in 1961. Kim attended Phelan Grade School and Blackford High School, shortly after receiving her G.E.D. Later in life she continued her education at West Valley College and then San Jose State University where she received her Master’s Degree in education. Kim started teaching in Preschool classes while attending college. She moved on to elementary school, then middle school, and then ended her career at Anderson Elementary where she taught 5th and 6th grade RSP classes.
Kim married the love of her life Patrick Taggart on October 19th, 1985. She had a son Joseph on August 8th, 1991.
She was a kind gentle woman loved by her family and all her dear friends, colleagues, and acquaintances. Kim loved teaching, beaches, flowers, reading, shopping, bears, her dog, and spending time with family and friends. She also loved spending time at the family’s mountain home in Markleeville California. Kim is survived by her husband Patrick, son Joseph, her dog Rosie, sister Chris Dunia, and brother Mike de la Peña.
Kim was taken from this world way too soon. She will be sorely missed and will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her. Until we meet again my love and wife.
Memorial services will be held at Willow Glen funeral home at 11 AM on December 7th.
