Leslie was the most natural with kids - she loved Zaria  our granddaughter.   She would do silly things to make her laugh - but she was also an enormous influence on her.  Z  loves books - Leslie loved books.  Coincidence?  I think not.

Leslie was my co-pilot on Changa.   Changa is the nickname for  our Harley.   I loved to ride before I met her - she had no idea she would grow to love it too.  

My Leslie and my daughter Sara in Guadalajara   Mexico.   Leslie loved Mexico and we planned to retire there at least 6 months a year.   Leslie was for better or worse a mother figure to Sara - and was instrumental in helping me with Sara through many hard times.
  

There are 3 people in this picture.  One is my "aunt" Margarita who is a very loving person that knew me as a baby.  The other is Tia Chavela  and of course my Leslie.    I hope to share more pictures in the coming days.  I started with this one - because my Tia Chavela was always "una alma de Dios" -  one of Gods Souls.   I have come to realize that Leslie is too!!    Tia Chavela hated pictures  - but she posed with Leslie! Look at the heart felt smiles!

Leslie and I worked together in Tech Services at SJPL. I eventually became her supervisor. I was so proud of her decision to go to library school. She worked hard and her dedication was so strong. We stayed in touch even after my retirement a few years ago. I was blessed to have known her. I'll never forget her giggle and beautiful smile.

I love you, Les.  It's been 6 weeks and I still feel I'm living in an alternate reality.  You were there at my beginning and all throughout my good times and bad.  And, you will be there at my end.  Fly with the angels, dear sister.  :0)

Leslie, you were a true inspiration, and your passing has left a huge hole in our hearts.  You have taught us so much, and helped bring our family closer than ever before.  You were our sister....Thank you for all you did and for all your were.   We will deeply miss you, and will always keep you in our hearts and memories.  
We love you very much, until we meet again....

I remember Leslie from the bookstore when she was the Community Relations Manager. Sorry to hear of her passing.


In my heart, Leslie will be remembered as a role model who is  genuine, selfless, giving and optimistic with a great heart for the family and everyone she knows.
