Maria Isabel "Chavela" Lujan was born on March 12th, 1937 to Celestino Flores and Bartola Gomez in Oballos Coahuila, Mexico. She was a resident of Alviso, California for the past 67 years. She is survived by her sister Erlinda Rosales Flores and her eight children: Santa, Francisco, Mary, Rosa, Jaime, Sylvia, Irma, and Jose. May she continue to live through her 29 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Chavela was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. To us she was "Nana", the heart of our family, and the reason why we gathered each and every holiday. She was a selfless, nurturing, and honest woman, but she was most known for her strength. Nana taught us how to value life, love your family and be thankful for what you have. We will miss her delicious cooking, beautiful laugh and conversations. We will forever cherish the memories we have of her.
Chavela is preceded in death by her husband Francisco Lujan, her son-in-laws Hondo and Joe and grandchildren Baby Sal, Baby Monica, and Frankie. May she rest in eternal peace.
