Born in Coalinga, California, on October 6, 1949, Norm lived a life fueled by love, loyalty, and horsepower. He is survived by his beloved wife Michele; his sons Mike (Autumn), Steve, and Daniel (Jennifer); and his cherished grandchildren Danny, Kayla, Aubrie, Tanner, and honorary granddaughter Serina Bogan.
Norm’s greatest pride was his family, and his greatest joy was sharing his love of racing with others. He began his journey on two wheels, racing motorcycles. Over time, his passion evolved into a lifelong commitment to the sprint car community. As an owner and supporter, Norm became a fixture in the local racing scene—his presence, encouragement, and generosity left a lasting mark.
Even when he was no longer able to attend races in person, Norm remained an ardent supporter of the sport. He found joy in sponsoring special events, including the Howard Kaeding Classic, and stayed connected through the kindness of friends who shared race updates, videos, and messages. The Martin family extends heartfelt thanks to all those who kept Norm close to the action and close to their hearts.
His legacy lives on in the roar of engines, the laughter of his grandchildren, and the countless lives he touched with his generosity and spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 19, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose.
