Our dad was the oldest of 9 children. His life was defined by hard work and many happy moments. He will continue to live in the hearts of his 3 daughters, his 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, his 2 sisters, his brother and the rest of the family and friends who loved him.
Our dad was a true example of resiliency. When he decided to come to the United States 81 years ago from Chihuahua, Mexico, he survived many ordeals. At the age of 16 he started to cross the border to work and send money to his family in Mexico. He was very courageous to come here all alone and work diligently as a farmworker through the Bracero program. He taught us the value of work ethics, life values and honesty.
