

PLARIDEL K. VILLAREAL
DECEMBER 12, 1963 – NOVEMBER 24, 2021
Plaridel Kimpo Villareal, 57 years old, passed away on November 24, 2021 after a brief illness.
Plaridel , fondly called Paddy/Pat by his family and friends, was born on December 12, 1963 in Manila, Philippines. As a child, he moved to California with his family, growing up in San Francisco Bay Area. After Paddy graduated from Yerba Buena High School in San Jose, he went on to study Industrial Technology at San Jose State University, California, where he also completed ROTC.
After graduating from college he joined the US Army as a commissioned officer in the 1980s. His military service included assignments abroad in South Korea and Germany, as well as in USA including a stint at the military language school, in Santa Cruz, California.
Upon leaving military service he worked at several major pharmaceutical/medical device manufacturing companies designing state-of-the-art medical devices. He was co-author of several patents on medical processes and medical devices.
Plaridel was a member of the Santa Teresa Catholic Church. For community service he performed volunteer police work at the City of Mountain View, CA. During his younger days he was an avid practitioner of several martial art forms including Taekwondo and Kali (Filipino stick-fighting). He enjoyed family gatherings and activities that kept him in touch with his cultural roots. He loved to travel, and among the places he visited, he considered Normandy, France, the site of the D-Day invasion as the most memorable – an opportunity to pay homage to the fallen American heroes & comrade-in-arms.
Paddy was preceded in death by Oscar (father), Fe (mother), and his siblings, Jose-Leoncio and Liberty.
He is survived by wife, Medina (Dhin), George (brother), Josie (sister-in-law), Charity (sister), Rizal (brother); nieces Tricia & Kay, and nephews; Gerry & Nathan .
A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose, CA, followed by a rosary service from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A visitation will occur Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00AM at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and a committal service from 11:00 to 12:00 PM.
