What more can I say about this young man, who's filled our lives with so much love, that hasn't already been said.  He was funny, loving, sweet, handsome, sarcastic, and so much more.  He was a Dallas Cowboy fanatic and a 49er hater!  Overall sports commentator.  To anyone who ever met him, you couldn't help but love the kid.  His life was dedicated to being the best husband, son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin, Nino and friend. 

On June 12, 2015, we gathered around him to have him CONSOLE US after being diagnosed. #Barraganstrong he roared! He fought 5 years, smiling while enduring treatments that included blood tests, MRI's (which he hated), CT's, chemo, radiation, surgery, medical procedures, tubes, needles and so so much more.  He smiled and told people he was good, even when he wasn't.  He said he was chosen to go through this and he'd fight! And this he did!  He slayed his battle! He is a TRUE WARRIOR!  Cancer may have invaded his body, but never his spirit.

One of my most loved memories: Ricky told me that he was taking classes to complete his holy sacraments.  I had always told him that when he was born I asked his mom and dad to let me to baptize him.  His dad said no and crushed my heart. So when he was ready to do his First Communion and Confirmation, he asked me to stand with him.  It was one of my proudest moments to stand with him knowing that he chose me to be his Nina.

He rarely called me Nina, I was almost always Tia La, well unless you count that one time he wanted tamales.  The last most ingrained memories of him are from when he came home on hospice, his strong hand holding out to help me and to show his love.  I'll miss his strong hands, strength we all count on to get us through those dark days.  I love you Mijo! I'll miss seeing your beautiful smile and hearing your "I love you too"'s.  Rest Mijo and send us your love in the whispers of the wind.  Always in our hearts you'll live forever!  Love you mijo!

My hearts so much, Ricky was by far the best person I ever met. I am so happy he came into my life in 5th grade and I got to grow up with him as my best friend. Nothing will ever fill that void or take away that pain in my heart from losing him. The only solace I get is knowing he is no longer in pain. He never deserved what happened to him, but he never let it change him. Cancer did not define Ricky as you can tell from all the kind words and memories of him. Ricky represented strength and kindness. A True Warrior. There hasn't been a day that goes by that I don't think of you. I wish I got to spend more time with you in the end but I know you knew how much I love and care for you Ricky. You are like a brother to me and I am forever grateful for the memories we shared. Thank you for being the best friend a girl like me could have ever asked for. From middle school, to high school, to college, marriage and babies we have been remained close through it all. From wedding ceremonies, birthday parties, fight nights and holiday parties, you and your family mean the world to me and I appreciate the love and acceptance your family has given me. I am happy and grateful that you and Bri had each other. I honestly believe that you too made each other better people and were a match made in heaven. I made a promise to you that I will look out for her and be there and I meant it. I know she was the glue holding you together, as you were to her and I promise to be there for her. Rest in peace and love knowing how many people loved and cared for you, and the positive impact you had on so many by just being you. I love and miss you friend, I will hold you in my heart forever. Save me a seat on the other side<3 

I feel like we’ve known you forever. You’ve always been a part of our family.  You will always be in our hearts. Love you and miss you.

Growing up with you was amazing. You are amazing, strong, courageous, and very loved. Even through your darkest moments, you brought sunshine to everyone around you with your happy spirit. I love you cousin and today your  body will be laid to rest. I know you’re alive. Your spirit is eternal and you’ll live for infinity with our Heavenly Father in peace and free of any pain and suffering. Only your body has passed away but you are well and alive looking down on us all with your big gorgeous smile. Rest in paradise Ricky. I love you.

No words can take away the grief you are feeling, but we hope you feel surrounded by the same love we all feel for Ricky.   He was an incredible warrior and such a loving spirit.  His only flaw was being a Cowboys and Yankees fan (lol!)  Rest in peace, dearest Ricky.  We will miss you.

Growing up I would hang out with Ricky at his tia Sandra's house.  He was always nice and so funny. My favorite memory is probably going to the fair together and riding the spaceship ridw, the one where yoire standing up in it and it spins so fast you're pused against the wall. Well we tried to go upside down and that didnt really work so when we got off Ricky was so dizzy we had to sit down like right outside the ride lol.
Years later I had the pleasure to meet Brianna, their love is so pure and real. Always so welcoming (well not your dog 😉) 

Ricky you are so missed!

         My sincere condolence to his family and loved ones. I use to work at Safeway with Ricky. He has a courtesy clerk and I was a checker back then. He always made me Smile and laugh when we worked together. He was an Awesome worker as well. He was always so Fun to be around. He lit up the room when he was around. I remember he would talk to me briefly about football and I could tell he was always so passionate about it. His parents would shop there at times and he would be so proud when they came in. He introduced me a few times while working and I always  had the up most respect for them because they raised such a truly kind person who was caring and unique. Such a joy to be around. I was friends with him on FB after I left that store and I was always so Inspired to read his posts. He was a true warrior and I always admired his Strength and positivity no matter What. It touched me to see how positive and courageous he was even though it seemed hard at times. I looked forward to his posts to see how he was doing.  I’m very saddened he is no longer here on earth but I’m glad he is No longer suffering. This world will Miss such a beautiful soul but I’m glad I was able to meet him and share some time with such a Wonderful person who I will never forget. Thank you for making the world a Better place by simply just being YOU! 💙🙏🏼😢

I only knew Ricky and Brianna (and Rich... and Sadie...) for a short time, but I'm glad for the acquaintance and friendship. Ricky took a very brave and positive attitude towards the terrible beast that is cancer and I learned a lot from talking to him and Brianna. What I remember the most is when he told us about how he practically stalked Brianna because he knew she was the one. Very sorry for the family's deep loss. We will always remember him.

To my lovey.  I miss you so much and  our hearts feel so empty without you here.  I know in time it won’t sting so much to remember all of our stories of you.  Like you falling with Izzy down the stairs.  I’ll miss you backing me up when we make fun of uncle Albert.  That smile of yours  is etched into not only my brain but in my heart too.  In my heart you will live forever and ever.  You make us want to be stronger.  Although I wish you were here physically with us, I know you are up in Heaven loving being pain free and being with all of our loved ones who have gone before us.  You thought we were hard to keep up with here but I know you are getting front row seats of all of us from up in Heaven.  Find a spot for all of us in Heaven my Ricky Raccoon and we will meet you there.  I love and miss you so much...life will never be the same without you.  Rest in Heaven my lovey.

 My deepest condolences, what a Mighty Warrior, Ricky had the Fight and a Strong Foundation you guys provided for him and a wife that stands by his right side through thick and thin.
 I saw  the strong will of the man that didn’t give up a fight rather the mighty strength it took to get through everything that was thrown at him .
 
I didn’t know RICKY well but I know the Fight he fought I know that No One Fights Alone .
