Ruby Faye Creelman, age 90, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Forest Grove, Oregon. A longtime resident of Saratoga, California, Ruby lived a full and vibrant life centered around family, hard work, and resilience.
Born in Oklahoma as one of ten children to Dolphus and Lula Bane, Ruby was a proud descendant of the Cherokee Nation from Arkansas. She dedicated much of her life to raising her six children in Saratoga and the greater Bay Area. She worked for many years at Intel Corporation in Santa Clara, later joining Dionex Corporation in Sunnyvale before retiring at the age of 70.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe, and sons Tom and Randy. After retirement, she moved to Paradise, California, where she lived with her son Barney and spent many happy years before they lost their home in the devastating Camp Fire. She then relocated to Salem, Oregon, to live with her sister, Donna. In 2019, she was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia and spent her final years in assisted living and memory care facilities.
Ruby found great joy in gardening, cooking, crafts, and, most of all, spending time with her large and loving family. She is survived by her sister, Donna; her children: Marian, Steve, John, and Barney; her grandchildren: Eva, Heidi, Rexx, Stefanie, Andrew, Molly, John Jr., and Derek; and her great-grandchildren: Kaidyn, Colton, McKenna, and Rosalie.
A celebration of Ruby’s life will be held on May 12–13 at Oak Hill Funeral Home in San Jose, California. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, her warmth, and her unwavering love for her family.
