Time passes and we spent another Christmas without you.  You would be pleased to know Tom has completed courses for his Master's Degree and is all set to go.  He and Chelsea have moved to San Diego where they hope to find work.  You would be proud of him . . Sarah and BJ were not here for Christmas Eve . . I think this is the 1st time ever Sarah hasn't been with us.  We miss you so much and I don't think the empty feeling will ever go away.  Love Mom and Dad

It's been a busy summer starting with Sarah's wedding.  I'm sure you saw it and loved it. I felt your presence so many times that day. She was beautiful and I've never seen two people so happy to be married. Love Mom and Dad

Today would be your 56th birthday.  I remember the day you were born . .sunny and warm and I think every October 15th has been the same. I am very sorry to hear of your loss of Scott.  I worked with him briefly as we designed and built rail cars together during his assignment to upstate NY in the early '90s.  I remember him well, as a terrific, fun-loving and very bright guy, who was also a proud family man.  I truly enjoyed getting to know Scott and recall many laughs, and accomplishments together with him and the rest of our "crew" from Lockheed.  As often happens in life we lost touch, but I am very glad that our paths crossed.  My sincere condolences to all of you and may your happy memories of Scott comfort you in this difficult time.

I've known Scott since Little League, through High School and then College. Though I haven't seen him often, the times we did run into each other were always a trip down memory lane. He would get me caught up with how everyone in his family was doing and it was always a pleasure to talk with him. He was a gentle person and caring soul. I will miss those random encounters. My condolences to the Kolstad family.  I have worked with Scott, off and on, for about 20 years.   He was a dedicated engineer and always a pleasure to work with.  When talking about our families, you could always tell how much he loved his kids.  I am very sorry for your loss.

We were so sorry to get the news about Scott.  Our condolences go out to Tim, Tom, and Sarah and the rest of the family.  Scott and I worked together years ago.  He was the most caring, considerate person who loved his family deeply.

I am very sorry that Scott has left us.  There's a sad group of us who enjoyed our long days (and nights) working with Scott. We've been through many years together. His professionalism, technical knowledge and sense of humor made our work challenges much easier to overcome. He made the world a better place. I will really miss him.

My wife Carol and I are very sad and shocked to hear of Scott's passing. Scott was a good man. We had some good times together in the past that I will never forget. Our sympathies go out to his family and close friends.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sarah, Tom, Tim and his extended family.  Bonnie and I shared so many great memories with Scott and Marybeth as we all discovered upper state New York in the early years, then developed a close relationship as we returned back to the Bay Area.  Scott was always a kind and gently sole, who made everyone around him feel at ease.  A remarkable gentleman who will be missed.

It is with a very heavy heart I write this note to Scott's family. I want you to know Scott was a great engineer, very well respected in this business, a consummate professional as well as a good friend. He was always even keeled got along well with everyone he met in a challenging work environment. Scott always had the answer or he went off and got it, no excuses, he truly made a difference. Scott was a very dear friend.  I traveled a lot with Scott and we lived together way back on travel to Swane New York while doing high speed tranes. So very sorry to hear about Scott. He was a great guy to work with. After countless hours at his desk and at a time when other folks would shy away from 'off site' support, Scott was right there with the essential knowledge, experience and attitude to get it done.
