Vincenza was one of five children, Antonina, Maria, Franco, Vincenza and Michele. In 1960, Vincenza along with her mother and her youngest brother Michele embarked on a ship from Sicily to America to be reunited with her father and her brother Franco who came to America by plane and waited for the family to join them in San Diego. From there, the family continued their journey to their permanent home in San Jose, California.
Vincenza met the love of her life, Antonio (Tony) Sacci, and married him on October 12, 1963 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in San Jose. Virginia and Tony recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Together, they shared a life that most people would envy. They never had any children of their own, but they were parents and grandparents to many and had an abundance of love to share with everyone.
Virginia, along with Tony, had many family and friends all over the world. Her love for travel and being around people she cared about, filled her travels with experiences she always loved to share with others. She traveled to Italy, Spain, Switzerland, France, and many other countries in Europe. She visited Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, Chicago, New York, Florida, Pensivalynia, and many other states in appreciation of her citizenship in the US. But let’s not forget her love for cruises! She was the queen of cruises and the life of the party.
Vincenza had a warm, giving heart. She was an excellent cook of Italian dishes and always had food on the table for anyone who came over to visit.
Vincenza, "Virginia," "Enza," was respected in her community and known for her contributions and devotion to her faith. She volunteered for many years at Holy Cross Parish where she was a member since 1963. She sang with the Italian Choir, a member of the Scalabrini, helped organize and cook for church dinners, Festa di San Giuseppe, and many other events at Holy Cross.
Vincenza is survived by her husband, Antonio, brother Michele (Susanna) Filippone, and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Loving sister to the late Antonina (Raymondo) Ferrugia, the late Maria (Giuseppe) Balistreri, and the late Francesco (Carmelina) Filippone.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a charitable donation be made to the Alzheimers Association in remembrance of Vincenza Sacci’s life.
