With a heartache no one can heal we announce the passing of Virginia (Ginna) Otey on June 22, 2013 at the age of 88. She was born on April 26, 1925 in Berkeley, CA, the ninth of ten children of Andrew and Victoria Nagy. She was the last of her generation. Her 5 sisters (Victoria, Irene, Helen, Ethel, and Marie) and 4 brothers (Andrew, William, Julius, and Robert) all preceded her in death.
A loving wife of 63 years, she is survived by her devoted husband Richard, son Paul (Lin), daughter Janet, granddaughters Karin (Mark), Julie (Andrew), Suzanne (Jake) and great granddaughter Aislin. She is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and their families.
Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother was a wonderfully loving, caring woman who always made family her priority.
Virginia was a talented porcelain artist who taught numerous students the art of china painting. She was a founding member of the Santa Clara Valley Porcelain Artists Club and a past president. She was also a tireless and passionate gardener.
A Funeral service celebrating her life will be held at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow St., San Jose, on Sunday, June 30, at 11:00 am. Visitation begins at 10:00 am.
Donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 4850 Union Ave, San Jose, CA 95124. Virginia was compassionately cared for by Hospice during the last months of her life.
