William A. Thomas Feb. 16, 1931 - Jan. 29, 2017 Proud Resident of San Jose, Bill passed away peacefully in Placerville, CA, the morning of January 29, 2017. He was just shy of celebrating his 86th birthday. He was born in San Jose, attended San Jose State University and proudly worked for the city for more than 30 years as a Senior Planner. Bill's love for San Jose continued in retirement, serving on both the Historic Landmarks Commission and the Employees Retirement Board. Bill also served our country in the Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his three children; Cara Thomas-Saich, Will Thomas, and Chris Thomas as well as his five grandchildren; Justin, Hayden, Clayton, Nicolas, and Malia. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 3rd, at Willow Glen Funeral Home, 1039 Lincoln Ave. San Jose, California 95125.
