The morning my grandma passed away, I had an earworm for a song I hadn't heard in a long time. The whole morning I kept humming "Once Upon a Dream", a song from the Disney movie Sleeping Beauty. It was not my favorite Disney movie nor had I recently watched it, so it was an odd tune to be stuck in my mind.  
At 10:35am central time, that Saturday morning, I got the text from my mom that my grandma was gone.

In the song, the lyrics mention a familiar feeling of knowing a stranger and having met them before, as if in a dream. 
I had met my grandma many, many times in my life, but the majority of these memories for me were after her Alzheimer's had developed to a point where she no longer recognized me. I'd like to think even if she didn't remember it, there was still a place in her heart for me.  

The day of her wake, my mom had sent the photos of my grandma laying peacefully. She truly looked like a sleeping beauty.
Goodnight Grandma. I love you a lot. See you in my dreams; I will meet you there.
