George, commonly known as Bami, was born on June 8th, 1943 To Catherine Elizabeth Fumikeh Macmillan at Kissy, Freetown, Sierra Leone. He finished his earthly pilgrimage on August 21st, 2020 In Oakland CA.
In his formative years, he attended the Kissy Infant and Primary Schools. He later attended the A.M.E High School for his Secondary Education.
He was baptized and confirmed at the Hennessey Memorial Methodist Church in Kissy, where he was also a Chorister for a number of years.
After completing his secondary education, he worked at the UMARCO Shipping and Forwarding Company (1963 -1972), In 1972, he came to the United States. He settled in New York and attended Trade School to satisfy his zest for technical education.
In 1979, he relocated to Los Angeles to accept employment with Pioneer Corporation.
In 1984, he was transferred to Oakland, where he retired (2008) and stayed until his passing.
George was blessed with six children. He was twice married and had a non-marital relationship after his second divorce. He is survived by his children; George and Winston (Princess); Bamie and Abioseh (Christine, Married 24 yrs.); Ebony and Marlene (Antoinette); brothers (Samuel Lawrence and Oseh Mbayo) Aunt,( Joko Cassell); Sister in Law (Daisy Lawrence); Daughter in Law (Sarah Macmillan) Grand Children David, Daniel & Dominic Macmillan, David Nelson, Carlen, Renesmae & Devante Koen; Niece (Olayinka Lawrence; Lovetta Jackson, Nephews (Olatunji Lawrence, Bola Jackson); Cousins (Bankole Jackson, Oreh Thompson, Ibidu Branche, Abioseh During,) and several other cousins and friends in the USA, UK and Sierra Leone
