Anna Shannon

Anna Shannon died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, July 5, 2014. She was married for 58 years to Dan Shannon, a fourth generation San Franciscan. Anna was born in Anaconda, Montana. Anna was a vivacious person whose exuberance and unique singing ability brought happiness to many of her friends and acquaintances. Anna was very active in the Marin County Cursillo Movement and was Music Director for over twenty weekend retreats at St. Benedict’s Church and Gym. She was Volunteer Music Director at St. Anselm’s Church for over fifteen years and also provided guitar and singing at Sunday Services at San Quentin Prison for three years. Being private secretary to President of the San Francisco Bar Association at Pillsbury, Madison and Sutro was one of her Legal Secretary achievements. She took great pride in the achievements of her children, Karen, Julie and Mark. Anna also followed closely the successes of her grandchildren, Rebecca, Natalie, Brendan and Caitlin. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anselm’s Church on Tuesday, July 15 at 10am. Keaton’s Mortuary entrusted with arrangements.
