James Graham Moore Passed away peacefully at his home on October 19, 2014. James was born in Fresno, California on February 22, 1928. He graduated from St. Therese (then a 12-year school), University of California at Berkeley, and UC San Francisco School of Medicine. He came from a family of pharmacists and spent time working for many of them while completing his undergraduate major in Pharmacy. He was a flyer in the Navy before graduating from college and a doctor in the Army after he graduated from medical school. He was active in professional societies and organizations, continuing to contribute his time and efforts long after he had graduated and obtained his medical degree. He served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at USCF; he provided consulting services on various aspects of radiology for his colleagues; and he participated in the one-day on-site medical clinics in Baja California hosted by Flying Samaritans International. In 1952, he married the love of his life, Mary Eggers, whom he had met at U.C. Berkeley. They first lived in San Francisco while he attended medical school; after his graduation, they moved first to Fort Lewis, Washington (where he completed his internship) and then to Fort Eustis, Virginia. When his Army service was completed, they returned to San Francisco where he completed his residency in radiology at UCSF (serving as Chief Resident during his last year) and then worked as a radiologist at St. Mary's Hospital. In 1966, he was offered a position at Mary's Help Hospital in Daly City (now Seton Medical Center), where he was the chief of staff in the radiology department until his retirement in 1992. Following his retirement, he and Mary traveled to various countries, took classes at the College of Marin, went on Elderhostel trips and spent time at the family cabin at Bucks Lake. When Mary became ill, they curtailed their outside activities but continued to travel occasionally until her death in 2010. He was the patriarch of a large family. His survivors include his children Mary C. Moore-Campagna (Gus Campagna) of Penngrove; James M. Moore (Nicola Hanchock) of Hercules; Monica Moore (Sally Fairfax) of Inverness; Ellen Moore (Charlie Beyer) of Berkeley; Martha Moore of Sweet Home, OR; Peter Moore (Kunie Onishi-Moore) of Nagoya, Japan; Christopher Moore (Mary Mayne Moore) of Pleasanton; Philip Moore of Rockville, MD; David Moore (Mitsuko Mooroka-Moore) of Tokyo, Japan, and Bill Moore (Kristine Traustason) of Bend, OR.
