William Gelardi

William R."Bill" Gelardi Born in San Francisco March 18, 1931 and passed away September 6, 2011. The loving husband of JoAnn "Joey" Gelardi for 60 years. They were sweethearts at Lowell High School and were married at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in San Francisco on August 25, 1951. He was the loving father of Jan Hudson (Dennis) of Anaheim, Bob Gelardi, Sr. (Christina) of San Rafael, Judy Hall (Mike) of Novato, and Joyce Henderson (Dave) of San Rafael. Bill was the proud and loving grandfather of Daryl and Deann Hudson, Christy and Bobby Gelardi, Jr., Rachel and Jeffrey Stanbro, Kevin Hall, and Mitch, Will and Cassie Henderson. He was the brother of Pat Gelardi of San Rafael and the uncle of Mark, Kirk, and Joseph Gelardi. After graduating from San Francisco State University, he was employed by the San Francisco Unified School District where he served as a teacher, administrator, and supervisor for 34 and 1/2 years, retiring 1987. He was a member of the Retired Employees of the City and County of San Francisco. Bill was the handball champ of the Dolphin Club and an athletic member of the Olympic Club representing the club in Northern California and National Handball Tournaments. July of 1968 Joey, Bill, and their four children moved to Terra Linda where he became an active member of the St. Isabella Parish serving as a Eucharistic Minister, and on parish committees. He also was a member of the Marin Racquetball Club, the SIRS, Branch 68, the Marin Y.M.C.A., and the Marin Rod and Gun Club. Bill enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren, his home, golf, fishing, and most of all his wife and best friend, Joey. A memorial service will be held Friday September 9th, at St. Isabella's Church (One Trinity Way, San Rafael CA. 94903) beginning at 11:00 AM.
