

Carolyn was born and raised in Sandwich on Crow Farm. Carolyn graduated from Sandwich High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Framingham State College and a master’s degree From Michigan in Environmental Education.
Carolyn worked with the 4H Program in New Hampshire and New Jersey for many years. When she returned to Cape Cod in the 1970's, she became a historical interpreter at Plymouth Plantation.
Carolyn's two greatest interests were history and nature. She not only hiked much of the Appalachian Trail, she also helped to maintain it with the Appalachian Mountain Club.
She was a long time member of the Sandwich Historic Commission. She was a Fountain of historical knowledge about Sandwich and all of Cape Cod.
Carolyn is survived by her sister, Eleanor Winslow, her nephews; Jon R. Winslow and Paul Crowell, and nieces; Lynn Smolinsky and Jean Fenton. She was predeceased by her brother Howard Crowell and niece Janet Winslow.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at The Barnstable Unitarian Church on April 13th at 11 am, 3330 Main St, Barnstable, MA 02630. Burial will be private.
