Hortense "Babe" E. Wescott

Born and raised in Blaine, Maine, Babe was the daughter of the late Vinal and Iva (Corey) Rees. During her life, Babe worked with her parents on the family potato farm in Maine before moving to Cape Cod.

Babe will always be remembered by her wonderful sense of humor and how particular she was when it came to her hair. She was an avid Yankees and Celtics fan, and also enjoyed many of the simpler things in life such as flowers and bird watching. She adored her cat Gizmo and dog Lyla. Above all else, Babe loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Michele Sarkisian of Centerville, grandchildren, Joseph, Alexandra and Rachael, and her sister Marjorie Weeks of Mars Hill, Maine. She was predeceased by her brother Norman Rees and sister Alene Rees.

Mrs. Wescott’s burial will be held on Thursday at 2PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Those desiring to attend the burial are asked to form at procession at 1PM on Thursday in the parking lot of Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Health Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
