James was born in Torrance, Los Angeles and grew up between Tampa, Florida and Bourne, Massachusetts. He returned to Cape Cod in 2015 with his brother, Tyler Smolinsky. A tattoo artist who loved music, skateboarding, cooking, and exploring nature, James was a deeply compassionate and loving being who dedicated his life making anyone and everyone around him as happy as humanly possible. Charismatic and affectionate, loyal and trusting, even when James was thousands of miles away, he always made himself available when a loved-one needed an ear, advice, or a reason to laugh. He was also a dedicated dog-father who saw pets as part of the family. He is survived by Chester, his Pomeranian mix, as well as siblings Tyler Smolinsky, Chance Boone, Richard Boone Jr, Haylee Boone and Angelina Walters; mother Heather Walters, father Richard Boone; stepmother Tammy Smolinsky; grandparents Sylvia Killeen and Randy Boone as well as Robert and Lupe Marder; aunts Jennifer Goodwin, Jodi Heath, and Yvonne Marder; uncles Kevin Goodwin, Richard, Robert, and Donny Marder; cousins Cooper Goodwin and Cody Goodwin; and dear friends Lydia Simmons, Natasha Petrovits and Ashley Fletcher.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 1pm on September 9, 2017 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home in Sandwich. A reception with refreshments will follow at 3pm at the American Legion in Sandwich.
