John “Sonny” Prosper, Jr.

John Prosper, 83, of Sandwich, MA and Nokomis, FL, passed away on May 29, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Ann of 40 years, their son Jeffrey of Plymouth, Steven of Norton, Susan of Whitman, David of Pembroke, Kim of Westboro, and Michael of WI. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one brother, Jim of Hingham.

After graduating from Brockton High School, John served 4 years in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 188 in Sandwich. He worked as a lineman for Eastern Edison for 38 years spending his “free time” coaching baseball and football teams in the area. His love of golf kept him busy throughout his 20+ retirement years in Florida and on Cape Cod.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday June 7, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rt 6A, Sandwich. Graveside services will be Monday, June 8, 10:00 AM, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Family and friends will leave Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, Sandwich, at 9:15 AM for the cemetery.
