Michael John Murphy

Sandwich: Michael John Murphy of Sandwich passed away at home with his family Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, from a brain tumor. Michael was 61 years old. Michael is survived by his wife Sandra Louise "Oslund" Murphy, his 2 children Ryan Michael Murphy, Chelsea Claudia "Murphy" Newcomb, his grandson Jameson Robert Newcomb , daughter-in-law Brooke Callahan and son-in-law Jason Newcomb, Michael's beloved mother Doris Murphy , sister's Kathleen "Murphy" Nichol, Patricia Murphy, Many nieces and nephews, cousins, sister's and brother's in Christ and his Otis Family.

Michael was born Sept. 9, l950 in Weymouth, MA, he was the son of the late John J. Murphy and Doris "Cowett " Murphy of Scituate, MA. Michael graduated from South Shore Voc. Tech. as an electrician. Mike began his career at Weymouth Naval Air Station, 8 years as Pave Paws Radar Station, and completed his 41 years of federal service at Otis 102nd Intelligence Wing.

Michaels greatest loves were Jesus, His Family, and Friends. Mike enjoyed jogging the canal, classical music, license plate collecting, and hiking the mountain trails of Bar Harbor Maine.

A Memorial Celebration of Michaels life will be held at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A in Sandwich on Saturday Feb. 18th at 12:00 noon.
