Nicholas P. Christiani, 66, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2021

Nick grew up in Quincy and moved to Sandwich in 1985. He worked alongside his father, a general contractor, developing Rof-Mar Estates on Lawrence Pond. With close friends, he also started an environmental contracting business. He was proud to be a 45-year member of Operating Engineers, Local 4.

Nick loved being outdoors. He spent most summer days sitting in the sun on the shores of Lawrence Pond while listening to the Red Sox. Other days he would rise early to walk the Cape Cod Canal for miles. He loved to cook and to experiment with his smoker grill and rotisserie. Every year on the Fourth of July he would invite family and friends to his home for a clam bake. His other passion was to ride his Harley with his friends.

He was always there to help others. There were many recipients of his generosity – he always donated his time and skills to those in need.

Nick was a devoted parishioner at Corpus Christi Parish and enjoyed greeting parishioners every Sunday. He was close to and respected by Reverend George E. Harrison, the deacons, the ushers, and his many friends at church.

Nick leaves behind his mother Mary, brother Frank, one sister, longtime friend and brother-in-law Michael Gibbons, and three sons: Nicholas, Matthew and Daniel. He is also survived by their mother Doris and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as a trusted friend and colleague to many in the Cape Cod contracting community. He is recently predeceased by his father Frank Christiani.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 31 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rt 6A, Sandwich, MA from 4:00-7:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, June 1 at Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Rd, East Sandwich, MA at 1:00. This will be followed by burial at Sandwich Town Cemetery.

We will miss Nick with all our hearts.

I am proud to say that Nick was one of my best friends! We worked together to clean up many sites on the Cape when he ran Envirosafe with Doris, Heather, Steve and Rob. Our friendship continued until he passed. Everyone liked Nick. I will miss talking to him.

Mary in anything she did.

Dearest Mary and family,

Nick greeted everyone with his beautiful smile, warmth and kindness and I always looked forward to seeing him at Corpus Christi Church where we first connected. I’m tremendously saddened his earthly journey ended at such a young age and know that a place in Heaven awaits him. Everyone in his family remains in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.

Fondest regards, Mary Jane Gallerani

My beloved Nick, my heart is shattered. God took you too soon. We had so many things left to do, places to go. I will continue to visit the many favorite spots that we enjoyed so much all over the Cape, sitting at the Canal, the road trips down to Ptown and the many beaches we would be found at relaxing on those beautiful Summer days...Oh how you loved your Sun....you will forever be my Hero... Until I see you again one day, you are now my brightest shining star in the sky at night... I love you and will miss you ever so much......Shell
