Anne Douglas Sanders Foster passed away peacefully to join the Lord Jesus on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Somerby Senior Living in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Surrounded by her loving family, Anne departed after a determined battle with dementia at the age of 87.
Born in 1937 in Dallas, Texas, Anne was the cherished eldest daughter of Marion Kirk and Willie Douglas (Argue) Sanders. Her early life was marked by joy and deep love for her family, including her younger sister, Susan.
Anne's vibrant spirit led her to the University of Georgia, where she experienced the most remarkable quarter of college life before returning to Atlanta. A few years later, she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Foster. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joyous upbringing of their two sons— Brad and Kirk. Anne was a beacon of love and diligent guidance, emphasizing education, youth sports, and spiritual growth.
Her community spirit shone brightly through her years of involvement with the Northside Youth Organization, where she became a beloved figure. She transported her children to league games, coached them up afterward, and served countless seasons as a team mother before her historic role as the first and only female league commissioner.
Professionally, Anne's passion for architecture and people propelled her into a successful four-decade career in real estate, beginning at Buckhead Brokers in 1984, joining Jenny Pruitt and Associates in 1988 as a Founding Member and later Broker, and eventually leading the Re/Max office in Sandy Springs. Known for her warm personality, keen interest in others' lives, and ever-present sense of humor, Anne left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Anne is lovingly remembered by her husband Bob, her sons Brad and Kirk, her sister Susan, her daughters-in-law Marie and Elisabeth, and her six adored grandchildren.
A private ceremony will celebrate Anne's remarkable life as she is tucked in to rest alongside her parents at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Anne will be remembered as a light in the lives of many whose legacy of kindness, love, determination, and laughter will forever resonate.
