

Benjamin John Simonett was born July 3, 1986, in Burnsville MN to Leona (Diersen) and John “Jack” Simonett. He was baptized into Christ’s family, attended elementary school, and confirmed his Christian faith at Mt Calvary Lutheran Church & School, Richfield MN. He was a 2004 graduate of Apple Valley High School. After graduation, Ben earned an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Kansas and a Master’s Degree in Management Consulting from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. He was currently enrolled at Georgia Tech to earn a Master’s Degree in Analytics.
During Ben’s professional career he held engineering or management consulting positions with Phoenix International of John Deere, Accenture, 2K, Activision and most recently Cox Enterprises.
Ben had a passion for learning. He enjoyed reading as he had an eagerness to learn and grow. He said many times “If it paid my bills, I would be a lifetime student!” Ben was an avid Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball fan. During his college years, many hours were spent in the Allen Field House. After college, he continued to proudly wear the KU Blue and Crimson colors. Rock Chalk Jayhawks – Go KU! Other hobbies Ben enjoyed was running, golfing, building his own computers, studying current affairs and the market, trading stocks and silver coins.
Ben truly was an amazing son, brother and uncle whose impact will forever be felt by his family who loves him dearly. “Meh” He was a unique person whose passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Ben’s memory are his parents Leona and Jack Simonett; brothers, Joe (Kelsey), Sam (Chrissy), Danny (special friend Marley) Simonett; nephew Jake and niece Penelope Simonett. Also, many special aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Ben’s life will be held 4-9 pm Saturday March 2, 2024, at the American Legion Post 1776, 14521 Granada Dr, Apple Valley, MN 55124 (952) 431-1776
