Ollie - I had no idea we had lost our "Bethy." I am so, so sorry and know that you must be lost without her. I hope you know that she loved you completely and fiercely. Beth was such a wonderful friend. We would always share "big girl" stories (the more embarrassing the better) and she sure could make me laugh out loud. I still have the sewing machine lap quilt she made me along with a fabulous Phantom of the Opera bracelet. She and I could talk about anything and everything, and that we did. She was a confidante and always gave me sound advice. Her loving spirit and gentleness will live on with all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Rest in peace, dear Bethy. 

My sweetest friends, The Melvins!  I have known and loved Sid, Georgia, Randy and Beth so many years - since Beth was about six years old.    So many sweet memories of Beth when she was in grade school and would visit in my home!  And many memories of our families attending  Raleigh Church of Christ and Beth as a classmate of my son, Johnny, attending Harding Academy.    Such a beautiful teenager with a voice to match! I have been so blessed to have kept up with all the extended family all these years, and to enjoy the good times and to get through the hard times with them.  I also came to know Ollie and to love and appreciate him as he loved Beth and cared for her.  I especially appreciate Ollie for his kindness is keeping me aware of Beth's recent illness.  I will hold both of them in my heart!

Such a dear lady - an absolute lady.  I'm so sad to hear this news.  My condolences to Ollie and the rest of her family.  

I am so deeply saddened about Beth's passing. She has left her dear friends and family way too soon. My prayers and thoughts go out to Ollie and all of the family members.

I'd like to extend my deepest condolences to Ollie and the family. I worked with Beth at BellSouth and even though I didn't know her real well, I do know that she was a very sweet and kind person who always saw the best in people. Through a mutual friend, I learned what a caring and generous soul she was. She opitimized the true meaning of a friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

I am so sad to her of Beth’s passing. We were best friends in high school, church and college room mates at Harding.  Our parents were very close.  The thing that stands out to me is her love for music, singing and dancing. In our dorm room instead of studying she would blast 70’s music from the stereo dancing and singing away while holding a hairbrush like is was a microphone. She had such a beautiful voice! We shared so many private jokes that only she and I would get. 
We lost touch over the years but she reconnected with me via email when her dad passed away. From then on we would keep in touch once or twice a year. So I knew she struggled with her health but still this comes as a shock.  She was a dear, dear friend and I am so thankful for the memories I have.  My prayers will be with you all, especially Ollie. 

One of my fondest memories of Beth is her wonderful laugh and how it would start a domino effect of laughter among others.  She had a great sense of humor, was an exemplary hostess, and a caring friend. I will miss her greatly.

Beth was a sweetheart! When I started working at BellSouth and nervous about new job, new people, Beth was welcoming with a most pleasant and sincere voice, helpful and kind. Great sense of humor, amazing cook, and a truly nice person!

Beth and I go way back as friends. I would like to share one fond memory.

Beth use to give small dinner parties and I would come over early to help her set up.  The first time I came over (She wasn't married at the time) and Beth opened the door I shouted out, loud enough for the neighbors to hear, "Honey I'm home" and we both just busted out laughing. Thereafter, whenever I came over to set up I said the same thing, it was always a laugh.

I have so many fond memories of our laughter.  I'm glad we met and became friends beyond work.  Beth will be missed.  Rest in peace.

I worked with “Bethro” many years ago, but I still remember and treasure how much we laughed together. Such a dear, sweet, funny lady. My sincere condolences to Ollie and all who loved her.

Beth was one of the sweetest people I ever knew, relative or not. I remember sitting at Mammy and Papa's kitchen table with her and Gail when we would spend the night. Ollie, you're in our hearts.

I've known Beth since the 80's. Such a nice person. Beth would bring me a roast or something she cooked and I was always surprised and thankful. Plus she was one of the funniest people I have ever met. I miss my friend already. Rest in Peace my friend

Oh yeah, when my Mom was ill last Christmas we brought some photos from her home to set around her room. Here is a "photo of some photos" that was in that room, including Randy Melvin (Beth's brother), Beth Cain (center), Georgia Melvin (Beth's mom, bottom right), and Kathryn Stephens (Beth's aunt, top right).

Ollie, I never know what to say in difficult times like this, but please know that Joy and I were very saddened to hear of Beth's passing. We appreciate the many times you kept us updated as to what was going on with her over the last few weeks.  We will continue to remember you in our prayers. 

Beth was such a sweetheart. She gave me a pink headband with ribbon streamers attached for my birthday back in early 90’s. I still have that headband. Beth will be missed by many. Rest In Peace my friend, until we meet again😇
