This is a celebration of the life of Betty Darnell. Betty was vivacious and outgoing and loved life. Whether it was a spot on imitation of Minnie Pearl, playing boogie-woogie piano, or telling one of her funny family stories or many jokes, she was always fun to be around and never met a stranger. Among her many and varied accomplishments, she had an angelic singing voice, specializing in harmony, was an outstanding receiver in flag football, and was a very successful real estate agent and sales person. She also appeared as an extra in the Robert Redford / Natalie Wood movie, “This Property is Condemned”. Betty was a devout wife and mother and was very proud of her four boys and many grandchildren and loved them unconditionally. She has gone to be with her beloved Jesus and leaves behind family and countless friends who should keep a happy memory of Betty in their hearts and be thankful for her transition. In the last years of her life, she suffered from Dementia, but never lost her spirit or sense of humor. She also never lost her love of music, singing (and knowing all of the words) to hundreds of hymns. She was comforted by the fact that when her time on Earth was done, she would go to heaven to be with the Lord and family members who have gone before her. There will be a memorial service August 1, 2015, at 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at: Brighton Gardens, 3088 Lenox Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30324, Phone: 404-846-8335. In lieu of flowers, call your mom and spend some time with her. If you don’t have a mom, call someone else who may be lonely and spend some time with them.
