Bruce T. Smith

Bruce T. Smith, 95, of Dunwoody, GA passed away November 14, 2011. He was born in Virginia to the late Emmett & Blanche Smith, Sr. After high school Mr. Smith worked for Richmond Dry Goods, and graduated Richmond Business School in Richmond, VA. Mr. Smith retired from PPG Industries with 37 years of dedicated service as Account Executive. He was an active member of the Lions Club, and a faithful, and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Richmond, VA. Mr. Smith transferred to Atlanta in 1966 with his job, and joined Dunwoody Baptist Church where he served in numerous capacities on various committees. He also volunteered his time to work with the AARP Tax Aide Program for 20 years. Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Clay; brothers Garland Smith, and Woodson Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Helen Tayloe Smith; daughter and son in-law Frances & Bill Burson; son and daughter in-law David & Gretchen Smith; granddaughters Kerry Trout (Gabe), and Kristin Christy(Chad); grandsons John Thomas Burson, and Joseph Burson; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Margaret Vaught, and Bernice Walker; brother Bernard Smith, Clara), Emmett Smith, Jr. (Barbara); and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 18, 2011 at Dunwoody Baptist Church Chapel. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
