Carmen Ruth Lemons Morris, 82, a life-long resident of Atlanta died January 11, 2019. Mrs. Morris grew up in the Grant Park area and graduated from Hoke Smith High School in 1954 where she was a member of The National Honor Society. She worked at the Atlanta Convention Bureau prior to raising her family. She volunteered with Northside Hospital Auxiliary for many years, eventually serving as its President. Since 1997, she and her husband Pierce were co-owners of Superior Printing Company. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her sons, Korey and Kevin Morris and is survived by her husband of 64 years, Pierce M. Morris; daughter, Risa Matthew (Graham Wilson); grandchildren, Michelle Morris, Jennefer Stephens, Sam Matthew, Chelsea Pierce; 12 great grandchildren; and sisters, Sandra Bailey, Darlene Moore (Bob). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. A memorial service with a reception following will begin at one o’clock on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Interment will follow the reception at Arlington Memorial Park.
