I cant believe it's been one year. We miss you my neighbor and friend.  RIP Dimos.

Doug and I miss Demos very much.  He was loved by so many people. We even met a former co-worker of his from the Ritz in Buckhead that lives in Santorini, Greece.  He is well known from a Greek restaurant in Savannah.  What a loving person.

When one looks in the dictionary for the word "kindness" or "gentleman", the first definition is: "Demos Galaktiadis". As a native Atlanta "Buckhead Brat", my family and I have eaten at The White House since it was located in, what is now, Loudermilk Park. Demos never had a bad word about anyone. When he found out that I was headed to Athens, Greece, he offered his condominium to me. I was so honored just to be offered but I was already committed to Delta Air Lines' crew hotel. Many times I'd show up for breakfast or lunch and Demos would insist that I sit with him at his "office" booth near the front door. His kindness extended to all of his customers and to his employees, both current and retired. A tireless worker, a true "people person", everyone enjoyed his hospitality. I trust that his memory will live on at The White House.

Dimos and The White House were staples in the Massell and Jacobs family. So many memories of family gatherings filled with laughter, love and full happy bellies were made. Our deepest condolences extend to his family and staff.

My husband and I have been coming to the White House Restaurant for many years and we will miss Demos.  He was a very kind man that made us feel special like his own family 
He will be greatly missed.

Back in 2018, @Atl Vintage Books I came across this edition issued by Atlanta’s Greek Orthodox Church commemorating its 50th anniversary. I took it by the White House one afternoon after closing and Demos went through the book telling stories of the bishop and families with whom he’d had relationships since coming to America.

It was a special moment in which Demos showed that he still revered and appreciated those who meant so much to him along the way.

He always greeted me with a remembrance about my mom (gone since 1990) , and an ask about my family and myself. Lovely man!

With deepest sympathy, we join you all on February 4-5.  May Demos’s legacies and good teachings be successfully carried out by his family per his wishes.

With his warm smile and gentle hugs, Demos had the unique gift of making everyone he greeted feel special.  He was generous with his time and affection and we saw it first hand in his love for our mother and father, John and Anna Sigalos.  He always made time for a visit with John and Annoula (as he called her) over the many years of their friendship sharing stories, laughter and good food.  His graciousness embraced all of us and we are very fortunate to have known him. May his memory be eternal.   With much to our dear Eva.

One of the kindest gentlemen I have ever met.  I worked next door to The White House for 10 years, and every day he greeted me with “Good morning, my darling” or “Miss Kelly, how are you my darling.”  I am lucky to have known him, and he will be missed by so many.

Will never forget this kind and loving man to everyone. 💔
