Elaine Claire Posenecker, 94, of Marietta, passed away Friday, the 19th of April 2013 at the Memory Care Unit of Longhorn Village in Austin, Texas. She was born in Decatur, Georgia to William and Mamie Thompson. Elaine graduated from Commercial High School of Atlanta in 1937. She worked for the Navy Department during WWII and the National Bank of Georgia for many years. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining and was very passionate about her china painting. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 38 years “Posey” Adolph Posenecker, sister Betty Sharpe, brother William Thompson and one grandchild. Surviving are her sons William (Bill) Posenecker and wife Geny of Haleiwa, Hawaii, son John Posenecker and wife Molly of Austin, Texas, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, the 24th of April 2013, at Patterson's Arlington Chapel followed by burial at Arlingtn Memorial Park. Dr. Gil Watson of Northside United Methodist Church will be officiating. Friends are invited to visit the family prior to the service at H.M.
