

Evelyn Kidd Wells of Atlanta died Saturday morning December 31, 2011. She was born October 5, 1926 to her parents Ernest Clifford Kidd and Anne Hattaway Kidd of Hapeville, GA. She graduated from Forest Park High School then from West Georgia College in 1945. She married Martin L. Wells of Forest Park , GA. They were married for 29 years until his death from cancer. They lived in Forest Park, GA, East Point, GA and Birmingham, AL before returning to Sandy Springs, GA in 1968. Evelyn was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church where she served in leadership roles of her Sunday school class and the Women's Missionary Union. Everywhere she lived she was involved in her children's PTA's serving as president. After her husband's death she became a successful real estate agent and was a member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors. Upon her retirement, she took her mother into her home and cared for her until her mother's death. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her three children and three grandchildren: Andrea Hollabaugh (Lewis) of Franklin, TN, Jeffry Kidd Wells (Lynn) of Marietta, and Susanne Goodman (Mark) of Marietta; grandchildren, Chris Goodman (Amanda), John Goodman, and Meredith Borg (Josiah). She is also survived by her sister-in-law Edna Wells Chennault. The family wants to give a special thanks to the caregivers at The Terraces of Woodstock: Melisa, Briggett, Deborah, Barbara, Patricia, Christine and Rachel, for their loving attention to mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Georgia Community Outreach Services (C.A.R.E) at 4804 Thicket Path NW, Acworth, GA 30102. This is a developing ministry serving Alzheimer's patients. The funeral service will be held at 2pm Tuesday January 3, 2012 at Patterson's Arlington Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Burial will follow the service at Arlington Memorial Park.
