Hannah Celia (Goldstein) Bernhardt passed away on March 20, 2012 in Athens, Georgia. Hannah was the only child of Abe and Kate Goldstein and was born on July 14, 1925 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She lived there until she met the "Love of Her Life" and Married, Morris Bernhardt of Jacksonville, Florida on June 7, 1948. They then resided in Jacksonville, Tulsa and since the 1950's, in Atlanta. Hannah and Morris shared a wonderful life for 61 years until he passed away on September 11, 2009. They were inseparable and enjoyed many activities and travels through the years. Upon their 50th Wedding Anniversary they went on a cruise to the Mediterranean and loved especially, seeing the beauty of Greece. They also had the opportunity, to travel to Glasgow, Scotland where Hannah had many maternal relatives. That trip was a "Dream Come True!" It was also exciting when they drove across the United States and spent time in New Mexico and Arizona and saw the splendor of the Grand Canyon. When Hannah was already middle-aged, she had the opportunity to travel to Brazil with her oldest Granddaughter, Rebecca, and took a canoe ride down the Amazon River and went crocodile spotting. That was one, incredible adventure-she never forgot. Hannah was always a Kind and Fun-loving, Lady to be around and enjoyed the time spent with her dear and life-long friends which included, Mary Sanditen of Tulsa, whom she had known, since they were infants-together in a crib! They stayed in touch-their entire lives and attended their 50th High School Reunion together and enjoyed a Beautiful Friendship for 86 years! Hannah also had a Lovely, singing voice-she started singing on the radio as a young girl and sang at many events including Weddings and synagogue functions; studied the piano when she was younger and performed in many recitals; was employed as a commercial artist and also created stained glass art-as a hobby. She joked she was also a "Shopaholic" and could Always find a Great, Bargain! Hannah was always well-groomed and took pride in her appearance. During their retirement years, Hannah and Morris took part many activities and volunteered at both The Fernbank Museum of Natural History and The Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau. They both loved meeting new people and took pride in their city and what Atlanta has to offer. More than anything else, Hannah loved and took much Pride in her children and grandchildren's accomplishments. She was a "Typical, Very Proud Mom and Mema!" No matter what the event, she would be in attendance for their various activities.
