

Helen Henry Spence, 51, of Power Springs, died peacefully on January 31, 2016 in Marietta, Georgia surrounded by her family. She died of complications from a stroke suffered on January 29.
Helen Henry was born on May 15, 1964 to Robert E. and Evelyn Smith Henry in Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up in Atlanta and attended the Pace Academy and the Webb School. In 2014 she graduated from Kennesaw State University summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
Helen was married to Brian Claude Spence on April 4, 2004 in Smyrna, Georgia and had a son, Michael Rega, from a previous marriage. She was predeceased by her father, Robert E. Henry, and her brother Robert E. Henry, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn S. Henry, her sister, Donna Henry Walker and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She worked for many years in construction as senior project manager. Most recently, she worked for American Building Supply.
A celebration of Helen’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 2nd, 11 a.m. at the Log Cabin Community Church, 2699 Log Cabin Dr. SE, Smyrna. Interment will follow the funeral service in Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs. A reception will follow from 1-3 p.m. at H. M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel.
The family will receive visitors at the H.M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd NE, Sandy Springs, GA from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, February 1st. Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the American Cancer Society or The Brain Research Foundation (thebrf.org).
