Don was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and was the youngest of 15 children. He graduated from Fulton High School in 1958 and John Marshall Law School in 1964.
Don began his career in the automobile industry in Atlanta in 1964, quickly becoming one of the city’s leading automobile dealers. Over the course of 60 years, he sold thousands of cars and touched countless lives through his generosity, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Don deeply valued his employees, treating them like family and fostering a workplace built on respect and care.
In addition to being a successful businessman and avid golfer, Don also enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved backyard cookouts and swimming days with his grandchildren, beach vacations, and family gatherings on holidays. He taught his family the importance of hard work, honesty, and compassion and led by example. The lessons he shared and the love he gave will always be a part of them. Don was a member of Dunwoody Baptist Church for 30 years before joining the Church of the Apostles in Atlanta.
Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Ann, and his son, Kevin Michael. He is survived by Saundra, his wife of 62 years, daughter, Michelle Nestlehutt (Paul); sons Brent Jackson (Wendy), Casey Jackson (MaryAnn), and Derek Jackson (Kate); and daughter-in-law, Jana Jackson.
