Ms. Julia Hester, 85, of Kennesaw passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014. The celebration of life for Ms. Hester will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at H. M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, NE, Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328 (404)851-9900. Mrs. Hester will be lying in repose from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Ms. Hester is survived by her children, Carolyn (Alfred) Byrd, Maryann Hogan, Brenda Ocasio, Walter (Linda) Hogan, Eddie Hogan, Juan (Colombina) Ocasio, fourteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her sister, Mrs. Irnez Phillips, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the Wake Service being held at 7:00 p.m. at Patterson & Son-Arlington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that contributions may be made to the Julia Hester Scholarship Fund at Cascade United Methodist Church, 3144 Cascade Road, SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30311.
