
She was born July 26, 1943, in Chamblee, GA, raised in Brookhaven, GA, and graduated in 1961 from Cross Keys High School in Atlanta. She was employed with Modern Gas Company in Albany, GA, and the City of Roswell, retiring in 2010 before moving to Alpharetta in 2012.
A gracious woman of deep faith, Mary was selflessly devoted to her family, often traveling to visit her children & grandchildren as well as serving as caregiver to her mother and siblings in their later years. Upon moving from Alpharetta to Fort Myers in late 2023, she relished exploring her new surroundings, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her son & daughter-in-law.
In addition to her parents — the late Noah Bishop & Alice Margaret (Turner) Grant — Mary was preceded in death by her three brothers: Roy, Larry & Ralph Grant; sister: Vivian Grant Cantrell; and son: Jeffrey Scott Overstreet.
She is survived by her son Ronald (Jennifer) Overstreet; grandchildren Tiffany, Melissa, Noah, Ainsley, Selena, and Trinity, as well as several great grandchildren; brother-in-law Kenneth Cantrell; sister-in-law Paulette Grant; daughter-in-law Doreen Overstreet; nieces Melissa Jacobi and Dawn Overstreet Moon; nephews Kevin Grant, Phil Norman and Mark Overstreet; stepchildren Ronda Overstreet Edwards, Lee Overstreet and Chrissy Overstreet Miller; and step-grandchildren Tara, Tori, Ivy and Holly.
H.M. Patterson & Son — Arlington Chapel will host visitation for family & friends on April 19, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., and funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA.
