

Mr. Norman Russell Alexander, Sr., 76, a native Atlantan and founder of A & A Exterminators, Inc. died Tuesday the 31st of January 2012. Russell was the son of the late J. H. Alexander and Carrie Irvin Alexander. Mr. Alexander was a graduate of West Fulton High School, “Class of 1953” and attended Georgia State University where he thrived playing on the basketball team. His jersey was numbered 13 which he considered his lucky number. In 1968 he founded A & A Exterminators and became highly respected in the industry. A lifelong athlete, Russell enjoyed playing baseball, softball, snow skiing, jogging and was an avid tennis player with ALTA for over 20 years. He was a member of The West Fulton Owls Club, Georgia Pest Control Association and the Wharf at The Harbor Club at Lake Oconee where he enjoyed boating with his family. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Janice Jenkins Alexander; son, N. R. “Rusty” Alexander, Jr. of Canton; daughters, Lynn Alexander Ehrlicher of Decatur, Lisa Alexander Fowler and her husband, C. Bradley Chester of Powder Springs; grandchildren, Brandon Alexander Fowler of Powder Springs, Cory Alexander Ehrlicher of Decatur, Peyton Lee Alexander of Canton; brother, Thomas P. Alexander of Marietta; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday the 4th of February at twelve o’clock “High Noon” at Arlington Chapel with Pastor Jim Garrett officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family Friday evening from six until eight o’clock at H. M.
