Patricia Ann “Pat” Matthews died peacefully on November 18, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia. Born to Rollin and Ann Hood, Pat was a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma and loved watching her Oklahoma Sooners play football on Saturdays in the fall.
Pat lived with style, grace, and a joyful sense of fun. She adored fashion—especially anything Chanel—along with the music of Elvis Presley and the game of golf. Pat had a tender heart for animals, and her love for them was yet another reflection of her gentle and generous spirit. These passions brought her great happiness throughout her life and were well-known to all who loved her.
Dedicated and hardworking, Pat built a fulfilling professional life first as a dental hygienist and later as a successful realtor, roles in which she cared for others with warmth, sincerity, and attention to detail.
Pat was predeceased by her beloved husband of blessed memory, Linn Hindman Matthews. She is survived by her dear sister, Sandra Mayhall, and Sandra’s husband, Michael, along with their children, Jeffrey and Justin Mayhall. She is also survived by Linn’s brother, William A. Matthews, and his wife, Luanna.
Pat was devoted to her friends, especially her close friend Anne Sarris, whose companionship enriched her life immeasurably. The family extends special thanks to Lisa Reisman, Lola Wyatt, and all of Pat’s incredible caregivers at Complete Care at Home for their excellent and loving care and service.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 9th at 10 o’clock at H.M. Patterson & Son–Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, followed by burial at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
